MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Who is eligible to be a Member of the Citizens' Council of La Grange?
Any resident of the Village of La Grange, Illinois, who has lived in La Grange at least one year and is registered to vote is eligible to be a Council member. To become a member, there must be an open Council position in your voting district. The Council's By-Laws restrict number of members per election district to eight (link to By-Laws below).
What are the duties of a Council Member?
Members commit to a four-year term, attend monthly meetings September though May and assist in the process to endorse candidates for the Village Board of Trustees, Library Board of Trustees and Park District Board of Commissioners. Members are also encouraged to attend meetings of the La Grange Village Board, the Library Board and the Park District Board. Members are required to pay dues of $25 per year.
How do I join?

When will the Council be next interviewing and recommending candidates?
The next slating process will begin in September for the April 2013 elections. The April ballot will list candiates for 12 offices in local government -- on the La Grange Village Board, the Park District and Libarary Boards, for President of the Village Board, and for Village Clerk.
