Slating for the April 9, 2013 election has been completed.

At its meeting on Wednesday, November 28th, the Citizens' Council slated Tom Livingston as a candidate for Village President, and slated Bill Holder, Mark Langan and David McCarty as candidates for the Village Board.

At its meeting on Wednesday, November 14th, the Citizens' Council slated four candidates for the four open trustee positions on the Library Board.  The slated candidates are: Bill Coffee, Tim Kelpsas, Mary Nelson and Becky Spratford.  In addition, the Council slated Bob Ashby for one of the open commissioner positions on the Park District Board.

Each of these candidates submitted an application for slating to the Council, and the essay portion of each candidate's application is available at this link for the Village Board, at this link for the President, at this link for the Library Board and at this link for the Park District Board.  Each essay response is also available by following the link to the left.

In March, 2013, the Council will host a forum at which all residents of La Grange may hear from and ask questions of the candidates, including those not slated by the Council.  Additional details concerning the forum will be posted in January.  All members of the public and the media are invited to attend.

        Serving La Grange since 1941

The Citizens’ Council is a nonpartisan, volunteer organization that seeks, evaluates and recommends candidates for local office in the Village of La Grange.  Its primary focus is to find the best qualified candidates for the various elected officers of the Village of La Grange, La Grange Library Board of Trustees and the Park District of La Grange. Equally important, the Council strives to keep its members - and all residents - infomed on key issues in local government.

La Grange residents, who are registered voters, are invited to join the
Citizens' Council and take part in a nonpartisan slating process that emphasizes
a candidate's qualifications and commitment to good government.  To join the
Council, please complete the membership application and join us at one of
